About the wine: Historically, the Sancerre area was planted mostly with red grapes including Pinot Noir. It’s full of ripe fruit from a warm year, cut expertly by smoke and minerals. In the mouth it’s outstanding, packed full of flinty minerals, notes of chalk, grapefruit and lime rind, and smooth, tension-filled texture. Sancerre is surely the most famous vineyard in the Loire Valley: famous for its dry, round, fruity white wines, with a mineral and salivating saline texture. In the nose 2019 Infidèle is delicate and lovely - a combination of dry grapefruit, straw, oyster shells, and a hint of gunflint smokiness. It is an aromatic wine that accompanies crustaceans, seafood, hot fish and cheeses.
